In general terms Nepal can be divided into three geographical regions, each stretching from east to west across the country, they are:-
The Terai Region (in the south) along the border with India is a low stretch of land and Nepal's most significant agricultural production region.
The Hill Region (central) consists of mountains, hills, flatlands and deep valleys, with elevations ranging from 600 to 3,000 meters.
The Himalayan Region (north) contains 202 mountains raising to more than 6,000 meters, and 13 mountains rising to more than 8,000 meters high, including, of course, Mt. Everest (8850m.), the world's highest mountain, and the enormous Annapurna massif.
The snow-covered mountains are replete with cold water rivers; the four major ones (from west to east) are the Kail, Karnali, Narayani and Kosi.

For development purposes, the country is also divided into five regions by geography (Eastern Development Region, Central Development Region, Western Development Region, Mid-Western Development Region, and Far-Western Development Region), Fourteen Zones (Rapti, Mechhi, Koshi, Veri, Narayani, Janakpur, Seti, Bagmati, Karnali, Sagarmatha, Mahakali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Dhaulagiri) and Seventy-Five District. Nepal is poor developing country and place of heaven in the world so the tourism industry is once a significant economic force, as backpackers, river rafters, mountain climbers and nature lovers trekked to Nepal in large numbers.

Nepal is a developing country with rich in culture. The climate varies considerably with elevation. May to October is monsoon season, when rain soaks the Terai and snow falls on the Himalayan peaks. Mid-October to mid-December is prime mountaineering weather: the skies are clear and sunny, temperatures range from warm in the lowlands to crisp in the mountains. March and April are also good months for mountain treks, although temperatures in Kathmandu and the Terai tend to be steamy.
