Introduction:-
Far-Western Region (Sudur Paschimanchal) is one of Nepal's five Development Regions. It is located at the western end of the country with headquarters at Dipayal, Silghadhi. It comprises two zones Mahakali and Seti. Far Western occupied area of 19,539 sq. km There are lies nine districts of 75 districts in Nepal which are Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Darchula,  Kanchanpur, Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, Doti and Kailali.

The Far Western Region of Nepal is sometimes called the Doti region, which some believe originated from 'Dovati' meaning land between two rivers. Others believe it originated from the Hindu god Dev, and aatavi, meaning the place of re-creation. The area's history goes back to the 13th century when Niranjan Malldeo founded the Doti Kingdom following the fall of the Katyuri King. Dotiyali and Kumauni are spoken in the Far Western Region. Deuda, Jhoda, Chhpeli, Chhaliya, Bhada etc. are traditional dance of the region and Gaura or Gamara is the biggest festival of the region.
Major Cities of Far Western Region are Dhangadhi (which municipality is in Kailali District of Seti Zone surrounded by the Urma VDC and Khutiya River in the east, Mohana river in the West, Geta Beladebipur VDC in the North and India in the south and total area of this city 103.73 sq. km. with fourteen wards),  Mahendranagar( which is the headquarters of Kanchanpur District in Mahakali Zone, The city is located at six kilometers north from the border of India and the Mahakali river. Kanchanpur is inhabited by people of various races including the indigenous Tharu people.), Dipayal-Silgadhi (which is municipality is the headquaters of Doti District and the Far-western region. The place located in trecking distance to Khaptad national park. Dipayal is valley a beautiful valley located in bed of Seti River. Seti River is well known for tastey fish) and Amarghadhi (which is headquarters of Dadeldhura District).
Beautiful landscape, natural and cultural diversity, people's life style, religious and spiritual aspects, RAUTRE'S hunting life in the forest, wonderful formation of the Himalayan ranges, humanity and brotherhood are the key features of this region. Far Western Nepal is a unique part of the world where is still protected the ancient human civilization.
A particular tribe of human being -'RAUTE' in this region is still moving from one place to another place looking for food and existence. They say that they are the owner of the forest and the government should not interfere their wild kingdom. Raute look like Tharus. Raute live in group and stay at one place at the most for 15 days, build their temporary huts and eat monkey and wild foods. They make wooden utensil which they exchange with the food stuff from the villagers. Among themselves they speak their own language whereas with others only Nepali. And there is also Unique Tharu culture in Terai, ancient Hindu culture in mid-mountains and Tibetan culture to the northern part of this region can be seen and experienced very closely.
